Job Description

The School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno, is recruiting for a Clinical Associate Professor, Director of its Online Master of Public Health (MPH) program. The Director coordinates and manages the operations of the online program within the Department of Public Health Practice. This position is a 12-month non-tenure track appointment.

The online MPH Program in Public Health Practice operates year-round, with three semesters per year (Spring, Summer, Fall). Interested applicants should have experience developing and managing asynchronous online programs at the graduate level (preferably public health).

Specific responsibilities of the Director include:
  • Liaises with Pearson Education cross-functional team (marketing, recruitment, student support, course development) and UNR Departments (Graduate School, admissions and registration, financial aid, cashier's office) to maintain operations of the online program
  • Represents the online program on School and University Committees
  • Identifies curriculum needs for the online program
  • Identifies teaching needs and makes teaching assignments, including identification and hiring of adjunct faculty
  • Responds to inquiries about the program
  • Maintains communication with faculty and LOAs throughout the semester
  • Oversees course enrollments and develops registration records
  • Manages the Student Resource Centers for the MPH and Certificate Programs
  • Reviews and approves program materials, including marketing/promotional materials, Student Handbooks and Welcome Packets
  • Manages admissions and sends letters to admitted students
  • Addresses Late Assignment Policy and appeals
  • Attends meetings representing the online program
  • Consults with Academic Advisor and Student Support Services on student issues.
  • Manages and approves Graduate School forms
  • Maintains a record of academic integrity issues in the department and organizes appeals of sanctions and charges, pursuant to UAM 6502


The Director is being hired at the level of Clinical Associate Professor, with responsibilities for teaching and research in addition to the Director responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of CEPH Accreditation
  • Curriculum and program development experience


Compensation Grade

Associate Professor, 12-month

Grants-in-aid
