Job Description
The Director of Recruitment Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight of all recruitment-related operations within the Digital Learning unit. This position is responsible for ensuring seamless and efficient recruitment processes, robust analytics and reporting, and effective use of technology to support enrollment goals. The Director works closely with internal and external stakeholders to align operational practices with institutional and unit strategies and ensure high-quality support for prospective students.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Oversee all aspects of recruitment operations, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative processes that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of recruitment operations.
- Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to align recruitment policies and processes with unit and institutional goals.
- Serve as a contributing member of the Learner Services leadership team, providing input on strategic planning, operational initiatives, and process development.
- Monitor all internal and external processes that impact the enrollment funnel and collaborate with stakeholders to improve as needed
- Implement and maintain use of new knowledge management systems across enrollment services to ensure consistency and accuracy in shared information.
- Develops and supervises staff/students Oversees assessment and evaluation in all areas of responsibility: Develops outcomes and goals for recruitment in consult with Executive Director, as well as assessment and tracking mechanisms.
Operational Analytics and Strategic Reporting
- Extract and analyze recruitment data to inform strategic decision-making and enhance conversion rates.
- Coordinate the preparation of administrative and operational reports for internal use and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with institutional stakeholders to improve dashboard reporting and visualizations that guide recruitment operations.
- Analyze operations to identify areas for improvement and work with relevant leaders to implement changes.
- Prepares administrative reports; analyzes and interprets data for predicting resource needs and developing long-range plans.
Systems Strategy and Support
- Collaborate with Digital Learning leadership to design and implement user-centered experiences for prospective and current students using the admissions CRM (e.g., Slate).
- Lead CRM training, user adoption, and system support to ensure enrollment coaches consistent use and maximum efficiency.
- Assist in the design and implementation of operational and technology strategies that streamline recruitment processes and enhance user experience.
- Partner with Slate and data teams to develop operational outcome measures, tracking systems, and integrated performance monitoring tools.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with enrollment leaders across Digital Learning and the broader campus to recommend and implement standards, best practices, and policies.
- Monitor operational outcome measures and support efforts to integrate process improvements throughout the recruitment team.
- Participate as a member of the Learner Services leadership team, contributing to institutional strategies that enhance student recruitment and support functions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree AND six (6) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience
- OR, Associate's degree AND eight (8) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience
- OR, Ten (10) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Experience using Slate to support online student recruitment
Work Location
- Knoxville, TN
- This position is open to fully remote modality for the ideal candidate.
