Title: Director of Center of Emphasis, Health Sciences Continuing Education
Position Summary: This position manages the operations of the Center of Emphasis, Health Sciences Continuing Education including the American Heart Association Training Center. It is responsible for planning, developing, and promoting workforce development opportunities for area businesses and citizens based on need and trends and in alignment with the College's strategic goals, and formula funding benchmarks.
Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures compliance with all internal and external approving/accrediting agency standards, requirements, regulations and benchmarks with regard to curriculum design and development, faculty credentials, and instructional delivery. Tracks workforce development trends, reviews and refines existing course inventory, and develops additional workforce training opportunities for open enrollment scheduling and/or customized contract training. Maintains regular and routine contact with area business and industry partners and develops additional strategic partnerships. Regularly attends chamber networking events, and other public networking events to promote Center offerings. Works with the Health Sciences Division and other appropriate College units to market continuing and professional education opportunities to Vol State alumni. Represents the department, division, and the College as appropriate on external boards, councils, agencies. Recommends and monitors budgetary expenditures and income to assess progress toward annual enrollment and financial goals. Leverages public and private resources. Advises Continuing Education students in selecting the appropriate pathway to achieve educational/career goals. Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates instructional staff and monitors credential attainment/sustainment. Identifies target-specific promotional and marketing opportunities and implements action plans. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in a health care field or education related field. Three years of experience in the health care industry.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Training/Teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to sell/market, direct, and manage the Center programs to a geographically diverse client base. Ability to apply business management principles, practices and techniques. Ability to design professional development continuing education programs for health care professionals. Capable of analyzing, identifying, and recommending program improvements. Ability to leverage outside public and private sector resources. Skilled in measuring and evaluating the impact of program delivery.
Pay Rate: 48,370.00 - 60,460.00 annual salary depending on experience
