Coordinator of Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Position Summary
The Coordinator of CME (CCME) is responsible for supporting CME operations and activities sponsored by the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. The CCME reports directly to the Director of Professional Development.

This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in developing and maintaining collaborations and partnerships.
Knowledge of industry standards and guidelines related to continuing medical education
Demonstrated ability to organize complex projects and be attentive to details that will influence the success of a project
Ability to manage multiple educational activities and associated tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and maintain timelines
Knowledge of instructional design principles and ability to assess and share feedback on opportunities for improvement around the linkage of educational needs, objectives, and learning outcomes
Experience in writing learning objectives
Strong data management, fiscal and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft office tools, including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe applications.
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, verbal and written communication.
Comfortable working in a frequently changing environment.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent


Required Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience managing accreditation and certification of activities for continuing medical education.


Preferred Qualifications


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Must hold valid drivers license and have driving history acceptable to the University insurance carrier.


Work Hours
Typically Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, with occasional evenings and weekends based on the needs of the department and the learning community. May require occasional overnight travel.

Physical Demands
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands and vision for office equipment such as computers; talk or hear; moderate telephone usage. The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 20 pounds.
2. Ability to tolerate exposure to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
