Job Description:

Madison College is seeking a Continuing Education Program Liaison for School of Professional and Continuing Education. The ideal candidate will have experience scheduling and developing courses for adult learners and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues including students, faculty and staff.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position. General Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Expectation is that this individual will be on campus at least three days a week, the remaining two days can be remote if preferred. Madison College offers a generous benefit program including health and dental benefits. This position is funded through cost recovery through June 30, 2022. Continuation is expected beyond this date contingent on funding. The employee selected will serve a twelve (12) month introductory period. This position does not offer a relocation package.

Position Summary:

This position works to develop effective programming (courses, webinars, series, workshops, digital credentials) by identifying needs and opportunities. This position analyzes data and works with other areas of the College and organizations. This position also recruits instructors and monitors instructor and program performance.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develops and manages program offerings, planning and assigning courses, utilizing course evaluations, enrollment trends, and financial data to plan, modify, or cancel classes.
  • Develops and implements new non-credit programming.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and performance management of part-time instructors.
  • Collaborates with marketing to develop outreach strategies that support enrollment for new or struggling classes and ensure consistency and accuracy of information.
  • Works to meet targets and operating margins.
  • Represents Continuing Education on internal and external committees promoting unit initiatives and interests and maintaining a positive relationship with the community.
  • Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision, and values. Comply with college policies, directives, and work rules.Engages positively with colleagues, handles conflict directly and professionally, contributes to team discussions, collaborates, and helps colleagues, assumes the best from colleagues, provides and accepts constructive feedback, follows through on commitments, and supports final decisions that are made.
  • Other duties as defined by department, college, or officials.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of non-credit programming and adult education principles
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze academic and administrative projects, programs, and processes for areas of improvement
  • Experience leading teams and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally - in-person, in writing, and by phone - with clarity, accuracy, and excellent customer service
  • Ability to determine priorities, be self-directed, and work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies to develop targeted messaging appropriate and appealing to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated strong organization skills and use of excel and Word
  • Experience facilitating meetings and knowledge of curriculum/course development


Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's of Arts or Bachelor's of Science

*Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.

Experience: Two (2) years (4000 hours) experience determining, scheduling and developing courses and course materials related to professional and personal development and certifications for adult learners
